The INBF and it's pro affiliate the WNBF have been the leaders in drug-free natural bodybuilding since their founding in 1989.  The INBF and WNBF set the most stringent natural requirements to uphold proper standards to the true natural athlete.  The organization requires seven years drug free for bodybuilding, figure and fitness.  All athletes are polygraph tested and winners are urine tested at pro-qualifying events.  Please visit www.inbf.net for more information on banned substances, upcoming contests, pro-qualifiers and results.  The Buckeye Classic is a rookie pro-qualfier for the Men's Overall and Women's Figure Overall winners!  Below are some of the best WNBF Pros in 2008 and 2009.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is drug-free and what are the banned substances?
Please visit www.inbf.net
and click on "What is Drug-Free?", for a complete list of banned substances.  New INBF athletes must also have not used prohormones for at least 2 years.

I have used ephedra, can I compete in the INBF?

Ephedra was banned by the INBF on July 1, 2004.  However, first-time competitors in the INBF must not have used ephedra within 6 months of their first INBF competition.  All other INBF athletes must have remained ephedra free since joining.

What is a WNBF Rookie Pro-Qualifier?  And how do I go Pro in the WNBF?

A WNBF Rookie Pro-Qualifier enables a limited Pro Card to only designated overall winners to compete in upcoming Pro WNBF events during the same calendar year (excluding the WNBF World Championships).  If the Rookie Pro places in the money during that calendar year, then full Pro Status will be earned.  Otherwise, the Rookie Pro Card will expire at the end of the calendar year.

The INBF and WNBF also has standard Pro-Qualifiers where each overall winner earns a WNBF Pro Card.  There are also Advanced Pro-Qualifiers such as the Mid-America Pro-Am where the top two overall win WNBF Pro Cards.  At Super Pro-Qualifiers such as the Naturalmania and Hercules competitions, each class winner earns a Pro Card.

Are there different presentation requirements for the INBF?
Yes, but just a few.  Male bodybuilders are required to hit a hands on hips most muscular pose and side serratus pose in addition to the typical mandatory poses.

Female figure competitors are required to do a "T" walk in addition to quarter turns.  The "T" walk further emphasizes showcasing your stage presence and physique.  Figure competitors will walk at both the prejudging and finals.  Both bodybuilders and figure competitors are allowed to twist in side relaxed shots.

What are the suit requirements for figure and fit body?
Two-piece swimsuit of one solid color.  The suit may be decorated with rhinestones, sequins, etc.  Their is no one-piece swimsuit round in INBF competition.

What is fit body and what are the posing requirements?
Fit body was added to competition at the 2007 INBF World Championships and is what could be considered a hybrid of figure and bodybuilding.  The division is popular amongst European and Australia competitors.  This division enables women to showcase more than what is possible in the quarter turns without requiring the muscle necessary in the bodybuilding division.  Required poses in addition to quarter turns are front double biceps, side chest, side triceps, back double biceps and front abdominal pose.
Poses can be done open hand to improve aesthetic.  Mandatory poses are done during the prejudging and a t-walk is required at the finals.
